As I understand it, the basic Constitutional arrangement is we’re free to worship, or not worship, as we please and no one gets burned at the stake for being a heretic. So, sure, snake handling and all the rest, as long as innocent people aren’t getting hurt. If the snakes get loose and start biting the neighborhood kids, then we end up with a messy court case and hopefully someone has appointed a judge with the wisdom to sort it all out. The question of why I think this is good is probably the subject for a book. Short answer, I tend to look at things historically. The alternatives to freedom of religion are state-sponsored religion — the Spanish Inquisition is a nasty example— or state sponsored no-religion — Communist China putting the Uyghurs into brutal re-education camps. Historically neither has worked out well.
